SHISHIR RANE, a born legend whose fabulous journey of creative experiments has been changing the entire F&B experience in the Indian hospitality industry!
Shishir Rane is born and brought up in Mumbai. He studied Hotel Management from Rizvi College, Bandra and did a specialisation in food production and pâté series. He also did post graduation in Hospitality from Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College, UK.
As many other great bartenders, Shishir wanted to be a chef but his interest in bartending developed seeing the creativity aspect that the job demands and also the the platform of being in the front of the stage rather than the backstage!
Undoubtedly, he has made quite a starry appearance in the hospitality world. His journey started as a chef researcher with Sanjeev Kapoor’s Khana Khazana. After which he joined ROYAL GARDEN HOTEL in London as a Chef de Rang in the bar.
The turning point in his life came when he got an opportunity to work with Kingfisher Airline’s first class Inflight Bar. After winning the heart of Vijay Malaya, he moved to Blue Frog India as an Assistant F&B manager then worked with PLAY BOY INDIA as a F&B Corporate Manager and that’s where he met Riyaaz Amlani of Impresario and created the game changer in the bar world – SOCIAL. Being the Group Head – Beverage and Brand experience of the iconic brand Social, he created an award winning concept which has so far been the most popular one in India.
Always looking to create and brainstorm innovative ideas, Shishir has created unique bar concepts and crafted cocktails for various brands such as GLOCAL JUNCTION, 4/1 CALCUTTA, PA PA YA, FARZI CAFE, KODE and many more.
Currently he is working as the NATIONAL HEAD – Beverage and Brand experience at Speciality Restaurant Ltd and has recently worked on a marvellous concept of TAPTAILS at the new bar EPISODE Kolkata & Mumbai.
His ambition of being a chef and education, always strengthened his core knowledge of Food and innovation which is why than just being a mixologist, he chose to curate BRAND EXPERIENCES and create unique cocktail concepts for bars which has quite recently picked up in the industry.
He credits his success to Riyaz Amlani, Zoravar Kalra and Sanjay Vazerani to give him an opportunity to create something novel and completely a game changing experience for the consumers as well as for the industry.
